McCain says Obama never held any hearings in the senate, etc.
On Iraq: Obama finally starts throwing punches "you were wrong," but McCain laughs it off and fights back. "Senator Obama does not understand." Its the same smirk that McCain used against Ron Paul, the smirk of derision. McCain is pulling the patriotism card, and Obama could do a whole lot better to fight back.
Are you kidding me? What is the lesson of Iraq: "You cannot have a failed strategy and then lose a conflict." John McCain is nuts if that was the only lesson he took from that war.
McCain wins this round no doubt. Obama remains on defense. McCain has made this debate a referendum on spending.
McCain is just scathing in his attacks - "most liberal in the Senate," etc. Obama is not really attacking McCain except for "more of the same."
McCain is going to win this debate unfortunately. He is keeping it aggressive against Obama and really hitting him hard. Obama is stumbling "my my my definition" - it reminds of the debates against Hillary. Obama just keeps repeating old "change" and "we can't afford more of the same," along with Carteresque liberalism that he can't stay mono-a-mono here.
Obama continues to respond to McCain's accusations on earmarks. He keeps attempting "a continuation of the last 8 years." This debate is so damn boring, they just keep repeating their old talking points.
Obama's eyes are personally very mad. He has the death stare. Not good news.
Obama stumbled in his response, McCain remains aggressive while Obama is being defensive.
Obama's counter is weak. McCain is rehashing so many old lines on this debate but most people won't notice. McCain attempted 2-3 zingers in the past minute but they failed. Never attack tax cuts, even if they are for the rich, it doesn't work.
